AMD gains share in Notebook CPU market

vr-zone.com - IDC have estimated market shares in the CPU industry for Q2 2010. Intel continued to dominate overall, but surprisingly, AMD pulled back a chunk of market share in the notebook CPU market - dominated by Intel. Compared to Q1 2010, AMD’s notebook CPU market share rose sharply by 1.6%, from 12.1% in Q1 to 13.7% Q2 2010. Intel still holds a dominant 86.1% share. This increase can largely be attributed to AMD’s Nile and Danube mobile platforms, featured in nearly 150 notebooks. More next page...
